Maggie Smith

Maggie works with organisations from all sectors delivering coaching and sessions around leadership, personal and team strengths, resilience and innovation and creativity.

Maggie is a consultant at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Bayes Business School (formally Cass) where she runs the Outstanding Leadership and Inspiring Financial Leadership series and coaches on the New Chief Executives and Aspiring Chief Executive Programmes.

Before starting her own coaching business, Maggie also worked at The Work Foundation. Her role as Head of Events based in the advocacy team meant that she often worked across the organisation and with colleagues in research and consultancy including the Leadership Programme team and School of Coaching. Whilst at The Work Foundation, Maggie worked on a number of high profile events featuring political leaders – David Cameron, Tony Blair, Nick Clegg, Gordon Brown, Alastair Darling – business leaders – running events for Tesco, ASDA, AXA and Adobe. This followed a number of years working in hotel and conference centre management.

Maggie holds a diploma in Executive Coaching from the Academy of Executive Coaching which is accredited by the International Coach Federation (of which she is a member), the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and Middlesex University.

Maggie was at The Work Foundation in the advocacy team at the time of the Outstanding Leadership research, and has a deep understanding about its implications for effective leadership development. She also presented a session on innovation on the pilot programme. She was a programme coach on all our early Towards Outstanding Leadership open programmes and now co-delivers each of them along with Peter.

In her spare time, she is studying Psychology with the Open University.
